We’ll be heading over to the reception venue straight after the ceremony and would love for you to join us for a light lunch, coffee and chats. We may get you to help decorate, depending on how prepared we are…
The Reception
Drinks & nibbles on arrival at 3pm
Buffet food from 5pm
Live music from 7pm
11pm finish
A buffet of Middle Eastern style dishes, with breads, cakes and cheeses.
Food will be clearly labelled but please let us know when you RSVP whether you have any requirements/allergies/intolerances.
There’s a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave etc. at the venue and we intend to stock a few extra things for kids (or adults) with ‘particular tastes’. Please let us know when you RSVP whether there’s something you/your kids would like to have available.

Access - the Register Office has step-free access at the back of the property through the garden entrance. To get to the garden from Bootham go through the archway to the left of the front door.
Parking - there’s no parking outside the Register Office but:
there's limited parking across the road at Bootham Row
or a car park about a 5-minute walk away (up a hill) on Marygate
Haxby, York
YO32 3QW
Oaken Grove is in Haxby and is about 15-20 minutes by car/taxi from the centre of York.
Access - the venue has level-access throughout, with wide doors and an accessible toilet that has baby-changing facilities.
Parking - for those who are driving there is plenty of on-site parking at the venue.
There’s space outside for kids to run around, as well as a small play area with a few outdoor toys.
A small number of high-chairs are available to use.
Let us know if there’s anything we can do to make sure your kids have a great time. If they only eat blue things or will only drink from a Totoro cup then drop us an email and we’ll get it sorted.
Since we have everything we need right now, all we ask for is your wonderful company.
But if you were thinking of giving us a gift then we’d love for you to redirect that generosity to Post Pals - a small charity cheering up kids who need it via the medium of snail mail.
Anything you choose to give would make Elki, Mike and lots of kids very happy indeed.
We'll be going for a late breakfast/brunch somewhere in town on Sunday 11th August.
If you think you might like to come, please let us know on the RSVP - details TBD.
If you need to contact us about anything, or update your RSVP, you can reach us at elkiandmike@hou.st.
For anything on the day, or if you just want to catch up, you can reach Mike on 07940 545098 or Elki on 07835 120419.
